Abstract

Spitzoid melanoma (SM) is a rare subtype of melanoma characterized histologically by the presence of large epithelioid melanocytes. Clinically, it is a nodular amelanotic lesion, less frequently pigmented. It has clinical and histological similarities with Spitz nevus, making its differentiation a diagnostic challenge. We describe the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to a patient with pigmented SM.
