Abstract

We present in this work the Subsystem for the Quality Control and Assurance and the feeding and nutritional intervention
measures, as prescribed in the Metabolic, Nutritional and Feeding Intervention Program (PRINUMA), implemented by
the Nutritional Support Group of the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital. The objective of this subsystem is to assure the correct provision of nutritional and feeding care to the hospitalized patient. Hence, the subsystem prescribes policies for: 1) documentation of the activities set forth by the Good Nutrition and Feeding Practices, 2) recording and treatment of relevant feeding and nutritional information; 3) identification of critical points in the provision of feeding and nutrition care; 4) the conduction of inspections and audits; 5) the installment of corrective measures and; 6) continuing education of both medical and
paramedical personnel. The subsystemintegrates armonically with the other components of the intervention program, in order to assure the success of the surgical-medical intervention measures, and the achievement of a better medical care.
