Characterization of allergic patients with acute hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Keywords:

Introduction: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are among the most prescribed compounds worldwide and hypersensitivity reactions to them are frequent.
Objective: To characterize allergic patients with acute hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Methods: A descriptive and transversal study was carried out. The sample consisted of 67 adult allergic patients who attended the protocolized allergy consultations of the "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Hospital. The summarized quantitative variables were analyzed with arithmetic mean and standard deviation, and the qualitative variables with frequencies and percentages.
Results: Predominance of women (67.2%), mean global IgE was 334.1 IU / ml, atopy in 100%, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs reported in the hypersensitivity response with more frequency was dipyrone (94%) .
Conclusions: All patients presented atopy. The clinical response pattern was exclusively cutaneous. Dipyrone is more frequently referred to in the hypersensitivity response.
